The Exhibit

preview the exhibit Pandemic: Imaging AIDS is a traveling exhibition of original photo-based work by award-winning photographers and artists from over fifty countries. Presenting twenty years of the photographic response to the epidemic, the collection tours internationally through 2005, beginning with a launch at the International AIDS Conference in Barcelona in July 2002. Exhibitions will follow at other prominent venues around the world, including the United Nations, in conjunction with World AIDS Day observances in December 2002.

From the first controversial efforts to document AIDS patients to an emerging need for images of protest and mourning, Pandemic: Facing AIDS captures the range of response to the global epidemic, as well as the changing reality for people living with AIDS. The list of photographers includes: Annie Leibovitz, Nan Goldin, Rotimi Fani-Kayode, Richard Sawdon Smith, Duane Michals, Cindy Sherman, The Starn Twins, Antonin Kratochvil, Dieter Telemans, Alessandro Balteo, John Dugdale, Oscar Sánchez Gómez, Mary Berridge, Kent Klich, Nancy Burson, Rosalind Solomon, Graeme Williams, Gran Fury, Paolo Pellegrin, and many others.
