The Pandemic: Facing AIDS project premieres in United States with a broadcast on HBO June 15, 2003, at 7 P.M. The publication Pandemic: Facing AIDS (Umbrage Books) presents twenty years of photographic response to AIDS by 100 international artists, and includes essays by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan Kofi Annan, Nobel-prize-winning novelist Nadine Gordimer, global economist Jeffrey Sachs and project directors Rory Kennedy and Nan Richardson. The photo exhibition tours in Chicago, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Boston, San Francisco and other cities (see schedule of events). The education curriculum (film, poster, 30 workbooks and teachers guide) has been enthusiastically adopted by schools in Miami, Boston and Los Angeles.
